UNTOLD TALES OF THE ROUND TABLE
guidelines
Among the most famous legends in the Western world is that of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. The story can be traced back to the 12th century in writing, but oral traditions are much older, perhaps stretching back to Roman times in Britain. For our purposes, we want original stories based on the legend as related by Geoffrey of Monmouth and forward, to include Camelot and the Grail quest.
NB: We are not seeking stories centered on Merlin or conventional treatments of the Lancelot–Guinevere romance. Surprise us with overlooked adventures, unfamiliar perspectives and incidents that might have occurred beyond the boundaries of the familiar legends.
In short, avoid the trite and oft told tales. We want the adventures and exploits previously unknown. Just remember, magic in the context of the Round Table was secondary and rare. Fae folk, on the other hand, were fair game. No explicit sexual content, no graphic sexual violence, and only mild profanity allowed.
Remember, although the original Arthurian material is public domain, be careful not to infringe on modern retellings.
