OLIVA SUDDEN by Tyree Campbell

Rating is 0.0 out of five stars based on reviews

By day Oliva Sudden is a substitute high school teacher struggling with unruly students and administrations that do not care for her methods or her color. At night she haunts the neighborhood, fighting those whose activities harm the ‘hood’s innocents—people who just want to live and grow. To do this, she has been gifted with special skills that make her invulnerable.

Jordan Farrell, a white detective, has been selected to stay in an apartment in the ‘hood to represent “police presence.” None too happy about this, he nevertheless finds himself involved with the people who live there, and tries to help when he can, often going beyond the call of duty. His partner, Detective Jamaryelle Moore, supports him. Their caseload includes investigations of recent unsolved killings in the ‘hood. Unknown to them, the killings are being carried out by Oliva Sudden—who lives next door to Farrell.
